Travel Vaccinations
At the surgery, we offer travel immunisations for people travelling abroad.
There is further information about countries and vaccinations required on the links below:
It is important to make your travel appointment as soon as possible, at least 4-6 weeks prior to departure. You MUST fill out a risk assessment form prior to this appointment, which you can collect from reception. Please give as much information about your destination/s as possible.
An appointment will be required with the practice nurse to receive your vaccinations. Some vaccines have to be ordered as they are not a stock vaccine. Please note: if it is less than 4 weeks before travel, there may be limited or no appointments available. Also, it takes time for your body to build up immunity after vaccination so you may not be fully protected. Please do not leave it too late when requesting a travel assessment.
Not all travel vaccinations are included in the services provided by the NHS. There are some charges involved for some travel vaccinations such as Rabies, or Japanese Encephalitis. The practice nurse will discuss these vaccinations with you. If these are required for your trip we will give you a price for the course plus any administration fees.
Payment MUST be made prior to the vaccines being ordered. Once they are in stock, the surgery will contact you to book the appointment for your vaccinations. Please ensure that you are given a receipt on payment.
For vaccines that are especially ordered, these will still need to be paid for even if you cancel your appointment.
We will not administer any vaccinations purchased elsewhere as the cold chain cannot be guaranteed.
