Immunisation

We offer the full range of childhood immunisations and strongly recommend that all children be immunised. If you are concerned about vaccinations, please discuss this with the Health Visitor or one of our health care professionals who will be able to give you informed advice. Remember that adults too should be regularly immunised against tetanus. 

If you have any doubts or queries about immunisations, please ask the Practice Nurse, Health Visitor or your Doctor. 

We are now able to offer a range of vaccinations to people who are not eligible under NHS guidelines, including Meningitis B ( from 2 years of age), Chickenpox ( varicella), HPV, Shingles/ Pneumococcal.The service is provided in our PRIVATE Travel Clinic. Please call the Travel Clinic on 01752 205556 for further details. The Travel Clinic is open Mondays 2pm-5.30pm (excluding bank holidays) Wednesdays and Thursdays 9am-1pm and 2pm-5.30pm

Children's Immunisation Schedule

If you are not attending with your child for their vaccination then a signed Parental Responsibility Consent form must be completed and brought with the child to the appointment. This can be downloaded here: Parental Responsibility Consent Form

 At two months old:

• Diptheria, tetanus, pertussis (whooping cough), polio and Haemophilus influenzae type b (Hib) (DTaP/IPV/Hib) - one injection
• Pneumococcal infection - pneumococcal conjugate vaccine (PCV) - one injection
• Rotavirus - one injection
• Meningitis B- one injection*

At three months old:

• Diptheria, tetanus, pertussis (whooping cough), polio and Haemophilus influenzae type b (Hib) (DTaP/IPV/Hib) - one injection
• Meningitis C (meningococcal group C) (MenC) - one injection
• Rotavirus - one injection

At four months old:

• Diptheria, tetanus, pertussis (whooping cough), polio and Haemophilus influenzae type b (Hib) (DTaP/IPV/Hib) - one injection
• Pneumococcal infection - pneumococcal conjugate vaccine (PCV) - one injection
• Meningitis B- one injection*

At around 12-13 months old:

• Haemophilus influenzae type b (Hib) and meningitis C (Hib/MenC) - booster dose in one injection

• Measles, mumps and rubella (German measles) (MMR) - one injection
• Pneumococcal infection - pneumococcal conjugate vaccine (PCV) - one injection
• Booster for Meningitis B- one injection*

Three years four months to five years old (pre-school):

• Diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis (whooping cough) and polio (dTaP/IPV or DTaP/IPV) - one injection
• Measles, mumps and rubella (German measles) (MMR) - one injection

13 to 14 years old:

• Diphtheria, tetanus and polio (Td/IPV) - one injection
• Meningitus A,C,W,Y - one injection

Girls 12-13 years old:

• HPV (human papillomavirus). Most HPV vaccinations are done through school.
