Patient feedback, October 2018 ( Praise from a website user)

"The opportunity for patients to gain a quick and easy access to a health care professional, via the morning and afternoon drop-in clinics, is an inspired move and demonstrates a model of best practice that other primary health care providers could learn from.

I was able to see a practitioner within 5 minutes of my 8am arrival this morning, instead of having to book and wait for an appointment, at some time in the future, at a time that was likely to be inconvenient.

Lisson Grove has clearly listened to the concerns and needs of their patients and, as a result, has developed an approach that has transformed service provision in a way that enables patients to see a prescribing practitioner, on a first come first served basis, for minor ailments or triage to a GP, if required.

The added value is such that GP time is not clogged up with appointments for minor ailments or prescriptions, therefore, enabling GPs with more appointment slots for those in greater need.

There are times when those responsible for service planning and system change should be congratulated, and this is one of them. Thank you."

Please make an appointment with the Practice Nurses who will be able to see to this for you.

All women currently in the screening program will continue to be invited.

Ladies aged 50 – 65 will automatically be invited to the Breast Screening Service for a routine mammography on a three yearly basis.

screeningChlamydia Screening

You may have seen TV commercials and news articles over the last few months about the increase in sexually active young people. As a Practice, we are being asked to actively encourage 16-24 year olds to have regular screening. Therefore, we are inviting you to collect a screening kit from the surgery; you will not need an appointment with a nurse or doctor to discuss the test.

It is advised that the test is done when sexually active, thereafter annually or on changing partners. Chlamydia is a serious disease and can lead to infertility if left untreated. It can often present with no symptoms which means you may not know you have it.

The Chlamydia Screening Office will notify you of the results via your preferred method of contact. In order to do this you will need to be able to give two forms of contact, e.g. an address and mobile phone number. They will also arrange any treatment if the test is positive and arrange partner tracing.

If you are unsure about completing the test or have any questions, please make an appointment with one of our Practice Nurses who will be happy to help you.

Diabetic Clinics

Patients with diabetes are asked to make an appointment at least annually to have a thorough check-up and advice on management. Clinics are run by our Practice Nurses and patients are asked to have blood tests done in advance to enable a complete check up. All diabetics are also advised to attend retinal camera screening annually.
