Our practice nurses manage the treatment rooms at the surgery. The healthcare assistant helps the nurses with their duties to monitor blood pressures, perform ECGs, urine tests and blood tests. As well as their routine consultations, the nurses can specifically help you with: - Immunisations
- Advice and injections for foreign travel
- Blood pressure measurements
- Dressings and removal of sutures
- Dietary and healthy living advice
- Minor illnesses and trauma
The practice nurses assist the doctors in monitoring patients with stable ongoing illnesses like diabetes, asthma, high blood pressure, epilepsy, thyroid disease, gout and heart disease. They assist with contraception planning and smears, leg ulcers, minor surgery and also carry out health screening and home visits to the housebound. All nurse clinics run by appointment only via reception. |
