Kingsnorth Medical Practice Needs You !
We would also be very pleased to hear from patients who would like to join the face to face group, the Patient Participation Group. Meetings last approximately one and a half hours, up to four times per year and the Group are fortunate that two GP partners also attend, along with Practice Management and Nursing staff to provide a comprehensive e response to any questions that arise. The PPG are supportive of the efforts of staff to provide an excellent service and were active contributors to the Care Quality Commission inspection last year, which resulted in a score of ‘Outstanding’ for the Practice. For those patients who would like to fund raise for equipment for the Practice, the Friends of Kingsnorth Medical Practice Patient Participation Group, would be delighted to hear from you.
The current early plans for an extended hours service provide both an opportunity and a risk to those services which are currently provided. The Patient Participation Group are seeking views on the early proposal , via the PPG in the first instance.

The NHS is changing and the future is uncertain.
Kingnorth Medical Practice is keen to support the Government’s intention of an NHS driven by a focus on quality and outcomes and delivering a more affordable and higher quality NHS. We believe this requires more investment in good care, closer to home. We need your support to do this.
Our Practice has been at the forefront of delivering you extended services within our locality. These could now be at risk!
We need to engage with you to support us in protecting not only what we do now, but to assist us in securing additional services. If carefully introduced and supported, we have the potential to design more local services which are responsive to the needs of our practice population.
We welcome the vision of an NHS built around the principles of shared decision making, including better information and choice, and of “no decision about me without me”.

Common Patient Questions and Answers
Q – Why are you asking people for their contact details?
A – We would like to be able to contact people occasionally to ask them questions about the surgery and how well we are doing to identify areas for improvement.
Q – Will my doctor see this information?
A – This information is purely to contact patients to ask them questions about the surgery, how well we are doing and ensure changes that are being made are patient focused. If your doctor is responsible for making some of the changes in the surgery they might see general feedback from patients.
Q – Will the questions you ask me be medical or personal?
A – We will only ask general questions about the practice, such as short questionnaires.
Q – Who else will be able to access my contact details?
A – Your contact details will be kept safely and securely and will only be used for this purpose and will not be shared with anyone else.
Q – What is a patient participation group?
A – This is a group of volunteer patients who are involved in making sure the surgery provides the services its patients need.
Q – Do I have to leave my contact details?
A – No, but if you change your mind, please let us know.
If you are happy for us to contact you periodically by email please provide your email address on the comments form accessible from the contact details page. Please include your name and date of birth so that we can identify you. Alternatively you can collect a form from Reception to complete.
