Locum Doctors

It is sometimes necessary to engage Locum Doctors to cover holidays and illnesses and to allow doctors to attend meetings. Locums are fully qualified and experienced doctors and have full access to your medical records.

Medical Students

Our Practices assist in the training and teaching of medical students. If a student is attached to the clinic you are attending, you will be asked to give your consent for them to be present during your consultation. If you would prefer them not to be present, they will be asked to leave the room during the consultation. 

Nurses

Our nurses oversee ongoing conditions such as Diabetes, Coronary Heart Disease, Asthma, COPD, Stroke & Epilepsy as well as performing cervical smear tests, offering contraception advice and monitoring HRT.  They also perform routine blood pressure checks, adult vaccinations and travel advice, as well as treating minor injuries, undertaking ear syringing, removing stitches and dressing wounds.

Carol is our Practice Manager at Hermitage Terrace.

She leads an experienced Practice Team who are committed to providing the best service possible, and should be your first point of call if you have a comment or complaint to make.

Yvonne Williamson (f)

Reception Manager

Yvonne leads a team of reception/administrative staff. The reception team are an excellent source of general information and all routine queries should be addressed to them in the first instance.

Pharmacy Team

Our Pharmacy team provides support in the delivery of medicines related care. They offer medication advice and answer any medication related queries or concerns, support in acute and repeat prescribing, medication reviews to ensure complete, accurate and appropriate medication records. Community Midwives

Our Community Midwife works closely with the practice and runs antenatal clinics every Friday.

Community Nurses

Our District Nursing Team provides nursing care at home for those who need it. Their working hours are Monday to Friday 8.00pm to 4.30pm. Patients can contact them directly on 0131 537 9031. If no-one is available to take your call, please leave a message and someone will return your call as soon as possible. District Nurses can also be contacted out with these hours via NHS24 on the freephone telephone on 111.

Health Visitors

Our Health Visiting Team provides support to families with young children under the age of 5 years. They offer antenatal and post natal support as well as carrying out routine developmental checks during your child's first five years of life. They can be contacted directly on 0131 312 2168. If no-one is available, please leave a message and one of the team will return your call as soon as possible.
