Repeat Prescriptions

orange_pills

Please allow at least 48 hours for prescriptions to be processed and remember to take weekends and bank holidays into account.

In light of the current COVID 19 pandemic we are looking at ways to reduce the need for patients to attend the surgery. We have introduced an email request system for prescriptions. All prescriptions should be emailed to prescriptions@dodsboroclinic.com

Please note that there is a charge of €15 for a repeat prescription for private patients - please phone the surgery to make payment as prescriptions will not be processed until fee is paid.

Please provide the following details in your email to prescriptions@dodsboroclinic.com

Name:

Date of birth:

Address:

Contact number:

Medication required and dosages (if known):

Preferred Chemist:

As part of this prescriptions may be delivered directly to a designated pharmacy – if you would like to avail of this please let us know along with details of the pharmacy and we will do our best to facilitate this. If you have symptoms suggestive of COVID-19 do not attend the surgery to collect a prescription, instead arrange for someone else to do so.

Prescription requests can be emailed to the surgery. Please note that these requests will take at least 48 hours to complete. This email address is for routine prescriptions only. If you require medical advice or attention please contact the clinic by phone on 01-6241181.

Please note that your request will be reviewed before completion by one of our doctors and you may be asked to make an appointment for a check up and / or bloods as part of monitoring both the effectiveness and safety of these medications. If you have not been seen in the clinic in a year it may be more appropriate to book an appointment by calling the surgery on 01-6241181. For certain medications / conditions you will need to be seen more frequently.

It is always helpful to keep a copy of your medication list and to share this list with a family member / carer.

If you have a hospital appointment or have been admitted to hospital please be sure to ask if your medication has been changed and clarify your current list of medications.

If unsure ask your pharmacist to print out a copy of your medications.

Always ask you doctor if unsure of changes to your prescription.

  Medication Reviews

Your GP will want to review your medication periodically and you will be advised when. Please ensure you make an appointment when required to avoid any delays in further prescriptions being issued.
