Training & Research

Doctors in Training

gp_and_bookWe are a keen training practice and often have doctors in training at the practice. We have both GP Registrars and F2 doctors.

GP registrars are fully qualified doctors who have chosen to specialise in general practice. They work independently but are supervised by all staff with a lead trainer overseeing the process. They are with us for 3-12 months depending on their training program.

F2 doctors are also fully qualified but have yet to specialise. Some may wish to be GPs but others will be getting experience in General practice before going on to careers in Hospital Medicine. Again, they are fully supported with a lead trainer within the practice and are with us for 4 months each.

Research

The practice is involved in NHS research. This will only be research that has received ethical and NHS research governance approval.

A patient’s full consent is always required for participation.

Patients who are eligible to be involved in any research study will always be formally invited to do so. There is absolutely no obligation to accept any invitation made. In addition patients who do accept are able to withdraw from a study at any time.
