Prostate Testing

Over the next few months there will be a drive for over 50 male patients (also over 40 male patients who have a family history of Prostate Cancer) to have a PSA test. This test detects raised PSA levels which could be an indicator for Prostate Cancer, however, there is no screening test available which has 100% sensitivity or specificity. Holmlands Medical Centre has been proactive for this test and an audit has previously been carried out.

Please ask reception for a leaflet with more information which can be emailed to you.
