TARGET training day Thursday 30th March 2023 (Closed from 1pm)

Arranged by the Hampshire, Southampton and Isle of Wight health Authority for Local GP Surgeries

TARGET is a scheme that brings our city’s Primary Care workforce together to learn new skills, hear about new treatments and share good practice.

It means that your surgery will need to close to facilitate this training but we will ensure that medical care will be available when you need it.

The surgery will therefore be closed on the following afternoon from 1pm

but the Out of Hours service (which can be accessed by calling 111) will cover:

Thursday 30th March 2023

TARGET stands for Time for Audit Research Governance Education and Training and all of these things are important in ensuring that surgery staff can do their jobs as effectively as possible.

Boiler issues (15/11/2022)

The Boiler has had some trouble this week. The gas engineer has already inspected and has advised that works needs to be carried out. This would mean there will be minimal heating and no hot water in the premises. We are hopeful for thisthis work to be completed in a week. Apologies in advance for the inconvenience.

We have had some inquiries about repeat prescriptions:

Some of your repeat prescriptions are changing over “Repeat Dispensing”.

Essentially all that means is, six months worth of prescription will be issued to the pharmacy for you to be able to collect every month. However, there may be some variation to this, depending on individual circumstances. During this process we are also trying to synchronize the prescriptions to reduce your number of visits to the pharmacy. We hope this would be helpful.

Pinehill Surgery would be closed for the afternoon from 2pm on the 20th October 2022 for Staff Training.

Patient safety is of the highest importance to us and during these difficult times our staff have to adopt to new ways of working and gain new skills. It is vital that our staff are trained to high standards so we can continue to offer high levels of care.

If you have an urgent medical problem whilst we are closed please call 111.

********************************************

We are closed on the Monday 19th September for Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II's State Funeral as it has been declared a Bank Holiday: If you require medical assistance on this day, please visit NHS 111 online, call NHS 111 or in the event of an emergency, call 999.

March News!!

We are excited to announce that, thanks to some successful grant applications we have been able to secure some exciting new equipment for the surgery and our patients!

In the forthcoming few weeks we are to receive the following new equipment- a new automated BP machine, A FeNo machine - this machine is used to calculate the inflammation in your airways - it is a brilliant tool in the diagnosis and management of Asthma and last but not least we are excited to be getting a Surgery POD- this innovative piece of equipment will take pride of place in our reception area, and will enable patients to walk in and have such measurements as a BP and weight taken via the self service 'pod'.

Our new improved CQC rating is in! .

We are very proud to announce that our CQC rating has improved and although we know we still have improvements to make we are extremely happy that the hard work we have been putting in is paying off.

We recognise that recent months have been challenging, and we have been striving hard to address the difficulties we have faced, but we are now in a much better place and will be able to reflect this in the care we provide. We are continuing to work with the CQC and will continue to work hard to improve .

We hope that our patients are reassured that our absolute focus remains on their care, and we will continue to work with the CCG to identify what further actions may be required, and what further steps we may need to take in the interests of patients and staff.
