If you are acutely unwell or have a routine problem and need to see a medical practitioner please telephone the surgery. There are also some appointments available to pre-book on the NHS Wales App.  Our receptionists will take some details of your problem off you so that they can navigate you to the most appropriate clinician, whether that be a GP, an advanced Nurse Practitioner or Pharmacist.

All children under the age of 16 years old with acute medical problems will be offered a same day consultation, telephone consultation, video or face to face depending upon the problem.

There may be an occasion when you telephone the surgery that your problem can be resolved by an alternative service to general practice. The receptionist will then care navigate you to that service initially, e.g. the local pharmacy, the optician, physiotherapy, the practice Psychological Health Practitioner or another local service.

Appointments for blood tests and essential routine monitoring with Practice Nurses are available but please telephone the surgery first to make an appointment.

If you are unable to keep your appointment please contact the surgery and cancel it so that we can offer your appointment to another patient.

HOME VISIT REQUESTS

Home visits will only be carried out for those who are truly housebound (not just due to lack of transport unfortunately). All requests for home visit will be put down for one of the Dr's to phone you back to assess the problem further to find the most suitable way of dealing with the problem, which may NOT be a home visit. All requests for home visits should ideally be made prior to 11.30am each day.

 Standards of Access

Welsh Government has recently launched a new set of standards, which aim to raise and improve the level of service for patients in Wales from their GP practices.  Theses standards will help patients to understand what to expect when they need advice on their health and wellbeing, when they need to consult a GP or other healthcare professional and what other options are available to them.

All telephone calls are recorded

The new standards are as follows:

People receive a prompt response to their contact with a GP practice via telephone

Practices have the appropriate telephony systems to support the needs of people avoiding the need to call back multiple times and will check that they are handling calls this way

People receive bilingual information on local and emergency services when contacting the practices

People are able to access information on how to get help and advice

People receive the right care at the right time in a joined up way which is based on their needs

People can use a range of options to contact their GP practice

People are able to email a practice to request a non-urgent consultation or a call back
