We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated nurse who is able to work autonomously to join the Maryhill Practice Nursing Team.

 

This is a permanent post and we will consider applicants looking for both full time and part time hours.

 

Practice nursing experience including long term condition management is desirable but consideration will be given to those with appropriate clinical experience and transferable skills from other areas.

 

The successful candidate should be comfortable accepting responsibility, be able to work independently and deliver a high standard of clinical care. They should have good communication and IT skills, the ability to prioritise and be motivated to reach their potential within an innovative and forward thinking environment. 

 

Salary will be dependent on experience

Come and join us in a progressive, innovative, highly integrated and motivated Practice. We are based in a wonderful location in Elgin, Moray, with easy access to a wide range of recreational activities.
We have a list size ~22,500 patients with 5 GP Partners and 5 salaried GPs supported by long established unscheduled care team including emergency care practitioners who do most house calls, advanced nurse practitioners, Practice nursing, administration, pharmacy and community nursing teams.

We are an established Training and Undergraduate Teaching Practice with an excellent supportive educational environment both internally and externally.

We wish to continue developing high standards of patient care, ensuring that the skill mix of the Practice enables safe, effective treatment and care.

Your role at Maryhill includes a mixture of face to face and telephone appointments, triaging econsults and sessions as duty doctor where you are well supported by the wider team as above. We are paper light using Vision and Docman. We also benefit from having Dr Gray’s, District General Hospital including A&E services located just across the road. We hold regular meetings with our secondary care colleagues to foster and facilitate good primary/secondary care working. We also hold weekly practice meetings and journal club to optimise our multidisciplinary approach and team working.

We are looking to recruit a salaried GP with the number of sessions being negotiable. Due to the age range of current workforce Partnership opportunities will be available in the future.

We offer a very competitive rate of pay including private medical insurance and medical indemnity cover. Golden Hello will also be available if eligible.

Emergency Care Practitioner

We are a friendly, motivated and well organised practice who very much work as part of a team, supporting each other to deliver high quality patient centred care. As an ECP at the practice, you would be working alongside the Duty Doctor, other Duty ECPs and ANPs to cover the unscheduled care work of our 22,500 patient practice on the beautiful Moray Coast.

The unscheduled care work consists of telephone triage, duty clinics and house calls. The duty doctor is available for advice and support for the whole of the working day and we have a large supportive multidisciplinary team including Pharmacy, First contact Physios and a well-integrated, highly functioning District Nursing Team. The right candidate would be competent and confident to work as an autonomous practitioner with advanced clinical skills and independent prescribing qualifications.


We are located in Elgin, Scotland’s smallest city on the beautiful Moray Coast with beaches, mountains, and great golf courses all on your doorstep.

MEDICAL RECEPTIONIST
Maternity Cover to March 2024


The Maryhill Group Practice has a maternity cover vacancy for a friendly, helpful and motivated receptionist on a full-time basis. Hours of work are between 8:30am and 5:00pm.

Some flexibility in hours of work is required as additional hours may be required, by mutual agreement, to cover holidays/sickness etc.


DUTIES OF OUR RECEPTIONISTS:

  • Front desk – ensuring patients check in correctly for appointments
  • Telephones – handling incoming telephone calls and allocating to the correct health professional
  • Duty reception – working as part unscheduled care team
  • Triage – processing and replying to eConsults received from patients
  • Rothes (full time position only) – covering reception duties at our Rothes surgery
  • Using software such as Vision, Docman, Word, Excel. Experience of these would be beneficial but full training can be provided.

Experience of working in a GP practice would be advantageous but full training will be given to the successful candidates.
