Nurses

blood_testWe have three practice Nurses, a Healthcare Assistant and a Healthcare Assistant for Frail.

Patients are seen by appointment.  In addition to the special clinics already listed, they carry out a range of procedures including dressings, blood tests, ECGs, removal of stitches and cervical smears.

We also have a Nurse Practitioner & ECP who are able to see and prescribe for a broad range of recent onset, minor illness ranging from earache and rashes through to chest infections and back strains. Our receptionists will be happy to provide a more comprehensive list of the service provided.

Nurse Practitioner Clinics

The Advanced Nurse Practitioner is independent of the GPs and trained to both diagnose and treat, with prescriptions if necessary. If she feels that an individual case needs the specific skills of a Doctor then she will pass the case to the appropriate GP. The Nurse Practitioner is able to prescribe within wide but defined limits and surgeries are available every day.

This service will improve the ability of Patients to see the Health Professional of their choice at the earliest possible opportunity.

Similarly our Enhanced Care Practitioner sees acute on the day appointments, liaising with your GP where necessary.
