Test Results
When you attend for a test of any kind you will be told how long you should expect to wait for the results. Please bear this in mind and call the surgery after 12:00pm once sufficient time has elapsed.
Communicating Results to Patients
The Practice adopts a ‘no news is good news’ approach in the communication of results.
This means that you won’t hear from us if the result is normal, but we will contact you by text, phone or letter if there is anything you need to know about
If your test results show that you need more tests or treatment, we will contact you.
Once a doctor has reviewed your test results, you can view them:
- in your NHS account (through the NHS website or NHS App)
- phone or visit us and we will tell you what the results are
Our reception staff are not qualified to comment on results and are only passing on a message left by the GP. However they will advise you if you need a further appointment to discuss your results further.
Please note that we do have a strict policy regarding confidentiality and data protection. In this respect we will only give out results to the person they relate to unless that person has given prior permission for their release or if they are not capable of understanding them.
