Dear Patient,

patient surveyWe are always happy to hear from patients to know how we can improve our service to you and how you perceive our surgery and staff. To help us with this, we are delighted to have established a Patient Participation Group (PPG).

Our PPG currently comprises the following active volunteer members:

  • Anne Whitehorn

Profile: Old Road West & Mackenzie Way Patient Participation Group (PPG)

Amendments to the Health and Social Act led to the expansion of  PPG ‘s  in GP practices in England with the PPG at Old Road West being established in 2015.

The Group comprises of a Chairman, Vice Chairman, Secretary, and group members, all of whom are registered patients at Old Road West or Mackenzie Way. The majority of the membership have been with the group from the start. The practice manager attends each meeting.

The group meets bi – monthly in the afternoons and some evenings. The principal remit for the PPG is to assist the practice in meeting the needs of all patients. The PPG do not get involved with any complaints raised by patients or carers, but a PPG member may act as an advocate in the process.

In line with the requirements from the ICB an annual patient survey is carried out at the practice. This is compiled by the PPG and the practice manager, and the survey is carried out by members of the PPG. This is normally done at the annual flu clinic.

If you are thinking of becoming a member of the PPG or would like more information regarding what we do, please contact the practice manager in the first instance.
