In 2011 we set up a Patient Participation Group which meets a few times each year to discuss the services we offer. We also discuss changes within the NHS, and how these might impact on patient care.
So far the following changes have been made as a result of these meetings :
Opening times
We extended our opening hours. Since November 2013 we no longer close the door or divert the telephone between 2 and 4pm.
Communication
The Group thought that patients are not always aware of the services that are available in the practice. We therefore decided to have a look at the ways in which we communicate with you.
- we have installed a notice board specifically for practice news;
- we put more information on our website
Waiting room
We took out a subscription for a monthly supply of a variety of magazines, suitable for women, men and children.
Consultations
It is now possible to book a telephone consultation;
- this will save you time if you have a query, but do not really need to see a doctor
- it will free up appointments for patients who need a face-to-face consultation
- it allows the doctor to give you an appointment outside the normal clinic hours if he decides you need to come in.
Reception area
We have changed the layout of the reception. The reception back office is sealed of with perspex screens. There is new flooring and an up to date reception counter.
PATIENT PARTICIPATION GROUP MEETING
Save the Date
Here at the Medical Centre, your views really do matter to us.
Please join us for our patient participation group (PPG) meeting at the surgery site in Holloway Road, on Tuesday 16th January 2024 @ 5.30pm
The agenda will reflect the latest improvements in both your clinical care and the way the service will continue to be delivered.
We will be discussing your ideas for the future, any new staff and improvements and Extended Access.
We shall be offering light refreshments.
We look forward to seeing you.
There is an application form at reception and online for those who would like to register their interest beforehand.
If you have an idea on how to make the surgery even better, why not attend one of our meetings - we are always looking for new members.
If you are interested please contact Gill Coulson, our senior receptionist or Chambis Georgiou, the practice manager. Email edo.rec@nhs.net or call 02076078259.
If you don't want to join the Group you can use the suggestion box in the waiting room, have a chat with one of our members of staff or click the 'Contact Us' tab to share your ideas with us.
