Home Visits

Doctor's bag

Whenever possible we prefer to see patients in the surgery. This is where we have the best facilities for diagnosis and treatment, and it allows us to maximize the time doctors spend with patients.

If it is difficult for you to come to surgery, please discuss the problem with our reception staff, who may be able to make arrangements to help you come to see us. If you are truly housebound we will visit you at home.

If you are requesting a home visit, please try to ring before 10am, as most home visits are performed in the morning.

Home visits are done by a duty doctor, who may not be your usual GP.

You can be visited at home by a community nurse if you are referred by your GP. You should also be visited at home by a health visitor if you have recently had a baby or if you are newly registered with a GP and have a child under five years.
