Highcroft Surgery operates “total triage” model as recommended by NHS England.

Total triage means that every patient contacting the surgery is first triaged before making an appointment. NHS England has recommended implementation of “total triage” model in GP practices using online consultation tools such eConsult system and telephone.

If you need help about your health symptoms, conditions or treatment use our eConsult system, which is free for all patients registered at the surgery. You can even request things like sick notes and GP letters.

  • Find your symptom, condition or request
  • Fill out a quick form
  • The surgery responds with advice, a prescription or an appointment

If you cannot use eConsult system, please call the surgery or come into the surgery as usual during working hours and the reception staff will go through a brief health questionnaire with you. A clinician will then call you back to assess how best they can help you or signpost you to other local services as clinically needed.

Book A GP Appointment Using eConsult

There are a number of different ways you can see your GP to discuss your health and wellbeing. After receiving your eConsult it will be triaged by the team who will offer you the most appropriate clinician to deal with your request.  They may send you a message, contact you by phone or ask you to attend for a face to face or a video consultation appointment depending upon your clinical needs.  We aim to respond same day where possible. If you don’t have access to internet or are not able to use internet our trained reception staff will go through a brief health questionnaire over the phone.

Video Consultation

Our GPs use eConsult video consultation system which allows them to video call you via a secure link.  They can also send you a SMS link via Accurx system for you to submit photos if they feel this would be helpful.  Any information submitted is completely secure and totally confidential.
