Nurses

 

Practice nurses are qualified and registered nurses. They can help with health issues such as family planning, healthy living advice, blood pressure checks and dressings. The practice nurses run clinics for long-term health conditions such as asthma or diabetes, minor ailment clinics and carry out cervical smears.

Rob Garbutt is the first point of contact for all things musculoskeletal. His role is to triage and consult with patients who present with acute MSK problems. A FCP does not provide ongoing physiotherapy sessions; they triage as an initial point of contact and then either treat within the consultation or refer to external services.
