Practice Nurses
Nurse Sue Jay (f)
Sue is our Nurse Manager leading the Nursing Team with over 15 years’ experience as a Practice Nurse.
As well as leading the team Sue’s duties include Infection Control Lead, she also specialises in our Diabetes Care, and is involved with cervical screening, family planning, and childhood vaccinations.
Nurse Lynda Watson (f)
Lynda has been with the Practice for over 20 years and is the lead Nurse for Childhood Vaccination. She also runs one of the INR clinics for our Warfarin patients. Her other main role is to provide ongoing treatment room care to our patients. The role includes dressings, injections, smears, etc.
Nurse Karen Goodwin (f)
Karen is one of our Practice Nurse with over 20 years’ experience and specialises in all our respiratory care - COPD and Asthma.
Nurse Natalie Castle (f)
Natalie is one of our Practice Nurses who has recently joined us after many years working in the district nursing team. Her main roles include leading our Dressing Clinics, Cervical Smears, stitch removal, INR’s, injections, some vaccinations, venepuncture and other general nursing duties.
Nursing Associate
This is a new role in primary care, (NA), Ms Leah Watts (f), has completed a two year course with Bristol University an is now a qualified Nursing Associate. She can carry out many of the treatment room services our Nurses carry out. She is currently working alongside our nurses and Healthcare technicians learning and supporting the team adn training in smear taking. Leah assists the Doctors in hypertension management and Learning Disability health checks.
GP Assistant / Health Care Technician
Mrs Joyce Knight (f)
Joyce is our longest serving member of the team and is our Senior Healthcare Technician. She provides nursing assistant care for our patients, carrying out blood tests, dressing care, stich removal, blood pressure checks, Vit B12 injections, ear syringing, flu vaccinations and ECG's. She works closely with our practice nurses She also carries out foot checks on our diabetic patients.
As a GP Assistant she provides support to the Doctors to manage patients with Long Term Conditions/Chronic Disease Checks.
Ms Kim Bevis (f)
Kim provides nursing assistant care for our patients, carrying out blood tests, blood pressure checks, ECG's and assists in the Family Planning and Vasectomy clinic. She works closely with our practice nurses. She carries out home visits for INR tests for patients who cannot get into the surgery. She also carries out Foot checks for our Diabetic patients.
As a GP Assistant she provides support to the Doctors to manage patients with Long Term Conditions/Chronic Disease Checks.
Healthcare Technicians/Assistants
Mr Simon Merrett (m)
Simon provides nursing assistant care for our patients, carrying out blood tests, blood pressure checks, dressings, flu vaccinations, stich removal and ECG's. He works closely with our practice nurses. He also carries out home visits for INR tests for patients who cannot get into the surgery. He also assists in our medicals.
Crystal Thompson (f)
Crystal provides Health Care Assistant Care for our patients, carrying out blood tests, and blood pressure checks. She works closely with our practice nurses.
