Test Results

Urine tests, blood tests, etc are carried out for the benefit of your health. For your test results please either:

• Fill out an eConsult form 
• Contact the surgery by telephone between 10:00am 6:00pm.

If you have had a smear test in the past 2 or 3 weeks you will receive a letter through the post, if you have not received a letter after 3 weeks please ring the surgery.

In the interests of confidentiality we do not give results over our Reception desk and ask all patients to telephone in for results.

Most test results are back in approximately five to seven days, although smear test results take between two to three weeks (the Nurse will advise you).

Note that the practice has a strict policy regarding confidentiality and data protection and we will only release test results to the person to whom they relate unless that person has given prior permission for the release of this data or they are not capable of understanding the results.

When you have a test performed you will be told how long it will be before the results are returned to the practice.

It is your responsibility to check your results and to make an telephone consultation to discuss them with your doctor if your are advised to do so.
