A big thank you to all of our patients for your kindness and understanding during these very challenging times. We appreciate your patience whilst we try our hardest to offer the best service we can under the circumstances.
Sadly we are aware that there have been some very negative comments on social media in recent days. We want to reassure you we are doing all we can to answer phones as quickly as possible but we have seen a huge increase in call volume in recent weeks.
It is very upsetting for the staff to see such negative comments about the practice when they are all working so hard in extremely challenging times. Please be kind to our staff.
Following NHS England advice regarding Coronavirus: Please do NOT come to the surgery unless you have a booked appointment. We have suspended our online appointment booking system. Appointments may only be booked via telephone and not by visiting the practice. All appointments will now be by telephone or video calls.
Prescriptions can be submitted using Patient Access, Engage Consult (online consultation - see below) or by emailing them to: ehsccg.greenstreetclinicprescriptions@nhs.net
We can no longer accept prescriptions on paper through our letter box. Please ensure you nominate your pharmacy as prescriptions cannot be collected from the practice whilst current social distancing and other restrictions are in place.
Novel Coronavirus: Advice for the NHS in England
We are now in the delay phase of our response to COVID-19.
This entails significant changes to how we identify and manage potential cases of COVID-19. Advice for NHS organisations is now as follows:
1. From today the public are being advised to stay at home (self-isolate) without any testing for COVID-19, regardless of travel history or contact with confirmed cases, if they have:
a. A new continuous cough
b. High temperature (of 37.8 degrees centigrade or higher)
OR
2. The geographic element of the case definition has now been removed. Travel and contact history are no longer important for diagnosis, which is on the basis of symptoms alone. If people who have travelled do not have symptoms they do not need to stay at home, regardless of their travel history. Individuals should stay at home (self-isolate) for 7 days from the onset of symptoms following the current advice. If someone has serious symptoms they cannot manage at home they should use NHS 111 online (people should only call NHS111 if they cannot get online). Cough may persist for several weeks in some people, despite the coronavirus infection having cleared. A persistent cough alone does not mean someone must continue to stay at home for more than 7 days. After 7 days of self-isolation, people who feel better and no longer have a high temperature can return to their normal routine. If they have not had any signs of improvement after 7 days and have not already sought medical advice, they should use NHS111 online (people should only call NHS111 if they cannot get online) before they leave their home or let visitors in.

Extended opening hours on Wednesday mornings from 7.30 am and 1 night per week until 8 pm (please see below).
We are here to help you so please call us first before considering the use of A & E. If you're not sure what to do please ring us first; we can offer advice to you on the telephone or organise a same day appointment if you need it.
We also offer extended opening hours as follows: GPs start morning surgery at 7.30am on Wednesday mornings and two GPs and 1 nurse offer late clinics on either Tuesday or Wednesday evenings on rotation. These are for routine pre-booked appointments only and are not intended as ‘walk-in’ or emergency sessions - only patients who have pre-booked their appointments will be seen.

Practice Development Afternoons (PDA's)
The practice holds quarterly PDA's for the whole practice team. This allows for an educational aspect for our clinical staff and discussion time for the whole practice team for any areas identified for improvement or change. We will continue to offer telephone and reception access for all patients and will have a locum GP available for any patient whose medical needs cannot wait for the following day. Whilst our service is reduced on these afternoons we believe it is important for the whole practice team to be involved in future development discussions. When dates for our PDA's are known they will be posted below.
Membership Engagement Learning Afternoons (MELE)
We are closed for staff training three times per year. This is an Eastboure wide training event promoted by The Eastbourne Hailsham & Seaford Clinical Commissioning Group to allow all GPs, Nurses and practice staff the opportunity to participate in a protected time learning event. Once these dates are known for 2019 they will be posted below. Please listen to our recorded message if your need is urgent and you cannot wait until we re-open the following day.
