Welcome to Rumney Primary Care Centre

Hay fever season

Hay fever is usually worse between late March and September, especially when it’s warm, humid and windy. This is when the pollen count is at its highest.

The majority of high strength treatments for hay fever are now available to purchase at your local pharmacy. You can also utilise the common ailment scheme for your hay fever medication from the pharmacy.  GPs will no longer be able to give routine prescriptions for hay fever treatments.

Therefore, requests for hay fever medications will be declined by the GP and you will initially be directed to the pharmacy.

Please do not be offended if we refer you to a pharmacy. It is important we do not use appointments for services and medications that are available at your local pharmacy. Where you try pharmacy recommended first line options and these are unsuccessful, then please contact the practice as an appointment may be required with a GP to discuss the medication.

Self Check in for Appointments

We now have a self check in system at the surgery, it is situated on the right hand side just before the reception desk.  Please book in for pre booked appointments at the self check in as this will prevent you from queueing at the reception desk.
