The Practice Had An Artist In Residence!

The practice hosted workshops for staff and patients in September and October 2022 with visual artist Cath Ford. At the workshops we collaborated in producing a shared artwork of cut-outs, doodles and words that reflect our shared experiences of health and wellbeing at the practice. Cath gathered together the ideas for a new art work for the surgery waiting room walls. The project is co-ordinated by Culturapedia and funded by Arts Council England.

Eunice Byers, Aged 105, Has Dardsley Tour

Eunice visited on 4 May 2022 with her nephew Ian to see the DoctorDoctor exhibition (see photo) and reminisce about being a patient here from her birth in February 1917 until 1948. Dr Sydney Sharples, home from the World War I front, delivered her as a baby at home in Bamber Bridge (see photo). She described Dr Sharples as "tall man with a lovely manner".  "It is wonderful how things have gone full circle" Eunice said as she has been a Dardsley (Lostock Hall Medical Centre) patient again as a resident of Willowbrooke Care Home since 2020.
