Why does the receptionist need to ask me what's wrong with me?

Right Care Right Place

At the Moray Coast Medical Practice we ask all patients requesting an 'emergency' appointment for brief details of their symptoms/problem.  This is not the receptionist being nosey but allows us to ensure that patients see the right person in the right timescales.

Zero Tolerance Policy

In line with the NHS zero tolerance guidelines on abuse of patients and staff, this Practice will not tolerate any incidents of violence, aggression and/or rudeness by ANY patients to the Practice Staff and/or patients either physically, verbally or through social media.

In the event of a patient being rude to Practice Staff or to other patients within the Surgery, or by patients using threatening and/or abusive language on the telephone, or posting derogatory remarks on social media, the Practice Manager will be informed. .A warning letter will be issued to the patient and continued inappropriate behaviour may result in the patient being removed from the practice list.

Emergency 'on the day' appointments

Patients who have an urgent problem that needs to be dealt with on the same day will be asked for a contact number and one of our emergency team will phone back and either resolve the issue or arrange a time for the patient to attend the surgery to be examined

On line prescriptions and appointments
