We now provide a text service for appointment reminders, annual recalls and health promotion. However appointment reminders by text are an additional service and they may not be sent on all occasions. The responsibility for attending appointments or cancelling them still rests with patient.
Text messages are generated using a secure facility but they are transmitted over a public network onto a personal telephone and as such may not be secure, however the practice will not transmit any sensitive information such as results. The patient will only be identified by their first name.
