Albyn Medical Practice has always maintained an active interest in assisting medical education and participates in the following educational programmes:
Protected Learning Time (PLT): PLTs are held most months on a Wednesday afternoon when we are closed at 1.30 p.m. to enable doctors and staff to attend educational and training events. During this time emergency medical cover is provided by the GMED emergency service. (If you require emergency care during these afternoons, please phone our main surgery line on 01224 586829 or NHS 24. For serious emergencies dial 999 for an ambulance).
GP Registrar Training: These are qualified doctors training to become GPs. Albyn Medical Practice has been a training practice since 1982.
Undergraduate Medical Students: Students from first year onwards are taught at Albyn Medical Practice where they experience all areas of primary care.
It is hoped that all patients will assist with these educational initiatives but if you wish to see the doctor alone please do not hesitate to ask for the student to leave.
