NHSScotland is improving the way it uses information from GP patient records

From May 2017 we will improve the way we use information from GP patient records. These changes will help to plan and improve health and care services in Scotland.

WELCOME TO ALBYN MEDICAL PRACTICE

PATIENT ACCESS DURING COVID 19

APPOINTMENTS

We are trying to keep our patients and staff as safe as possible during the Covid 19 Pandemic and have therefore reduced the number of people coming into the surgery.

As with many other businesses the way we work has had to change and this will remain the case for a long time to come. However, we are very much still here to help you and you should continue to contact us if you have any medical symptoms or issues.

We encourage you to use our new eConsult service which can be accessed on the home screen of our website.  Please read the Hints and Tips section before using the service as this will improve your experience of using it.  If the GP needs to see or speak to you we have a range of options available.   We can provide telephone advice, video consultations or, where necessary, arrange for you to come to the practice for a face to face appointment.  If you are unable to use eConsult please be aware our trained reception staff will ask you for more information than usual so that we can guide you to the right healthcare professional.

TELEPHONE CONSULTATIONS

We are currently offering telephone appointments as the first point of contact for all patients.  We have some available to pre-book and others will be offered as a result of submitting an eConsult.   Please make sure you are available to take the telephone call from the GP at the time allocated to you.  This should be in a private area where you are able to discuss your problem.

Please note the practice telephone number is withheld and you should check with your phone provider that you are able to received calls from withheld numbers prior to your telephone appointments.

VIDEO CONSULTATIONS

If you have been given a time or day for a video consultation, you can access your appointment by clicking on the secure link located on our practice website using any device with a microphone and camera (i.e. Smartphone, tablet, I-pad, laptop, PC). You can login prior to your appointment time to test that everything is working for you.

Please Note:  If you have not been allocated a video appointment by the practice, your call will not be answered.

PRESCRIPTIONS

To reduce the footfall within the practice, we are encouraging all patients to sign up with a Pharmacy for collection of prescriptions.

If you have a preferred pharmacy for collecting your scripts please ask the staff at the pharmacy to set this up for you.  This will mean when you order your scripts they will be delivered direct to the Pharmacy of your choice and you should attend there for collection.

Please allow 4 working days for collection from time of ordering.

ONLINE SERVICES

We have currently suspended booking of appointments on line - this allows us to check the reason for your appointment and deal with this by phone if appropriate to prevent patients visiting the practice if this is not needed.

Prescriptions can still be ordered using this service - please ensure that you advise us which pharmacy you would like to pick up your prescriptions from as these cannot currently be collected from the practice.

We would like to thank all our patients for their understanding and help - keeping us all as safe as possible and allowing us to continue looking after your health at this difficult time.
