COVID-19 VACCINE
If you have a general query about the COVID-19 vaccine, please look on the NHS Inform website or use the national helpline 0800 030 8013 which is open from 8am to 8pm, seven days a week.

Vaccine rollout to the general public, based on age and underlying health conditions, will start as soon as possible, and will depend on vaccine supply.

This is likely to be at the start of the new year so please look out for a letter and a leaflet arriving in the post which will invite you to make an appointment for your vaccine. The first group to receive this will be the over 80s.

Please avoid calling with any general queries about the COVID-19 vaccine as we are unable to give you any more information at this stage and we need to try and keep phone-lines open for people who are unwell and needing medical care.

Many thanks for your ongoing patience and cooperation.

RCGP Quality Practice Award

What is the Quality Practice Award?

The Royal College of General Practitioners (RCGP) Quality Practice Award (QPA) is a standards-based quality accreditation process designed to improve patient care by encouraging and supporting practices to deliver the very highest quality care to their patients. In operation since 1996, Quality Practice Award recognises the commitment of the entire team, including the attached staff, in providing high quality care for patients within a learning and adaptive environment.

Quality Practice Award is the highest attainable award available from the college encompassing a large clinical component and assessment of patient experience. Quality Practice Award asks the contributing team members to demonstrate reflective learning resulting in a quality initiative that is a holistic process of quality improvement.

Quality Practice Award requires practices to submit a portfolio of written evidence set against a number of standards covered in six modules. When a practice’s written evidence is complete, a full day assessment visit is conducted by a panel of three, which will comprise a combination of GPs, Nurses, and Managers.

QPA is the highest award attainable from the RCGP and recognises practice teams who have demonstrated both clinical and organisational Excellent Practice in the delivery of primary care.

Renewing our Award

We applied for re-accreditation (which is optional to retain the award every 5 years).  An Assessment team visited the practice on Thursday, 3rd April 2014 and we are delighted to have been awarded QPA for a second time!
