Practice Social Worker

Niall Rotherham

Often people are directed to their GP for support with any social difficulties that they are experiencing. While well informed, the GP is not always the person to see for these issues. By having Social Workers in GP surgeries our patients are able to get a systematic service with their best interests as the main aim. Please contact reception to organise contact with Niall.

Niall is particularly active in the local community in Downpatrick, running a number of groups that have benefited not only our patients but patients from other surgeries.

Practice Pharmacist

Rosann Craig

Working along side the GPs is our practice pharmacist Rosann. Her main role is to ensure that every patients medication is correct and is being prescribed safely. She reviews all hospital discharge letters and clinic letters so that medication changes are implemented as quickly as possible.

Rosann also undertakes annual pill reviews for anyone on oral contraception.

On Tuesday mornings the surgery runs a Diabetic Review Clinic. Rosann reviews the patients annual diabetic bloods, overall diabetic health and adjusts their medication accordingly.
