We will only address one medical issue per request.
If you are not a registered patient at Purbeck Health Centre, your query will not be responded to.
Submitting a medical request via the admin queries section will not result in a GP appointment.
 
Book Appointments and Get Admin Support – Use Anima
Anima opens at 7:00 am, Monday to Friday. (Until 6.30pm)
We now use Anima, a secure online system that allows you to contact the surgery for appointments and administrative support. that allows you to contact the surgery for appointments and administrative support.
What Is an Urgent Issue?
Urgent health issues are problems that cannot safely wait several days. Examples include:
- New or worsening chest pain 
- Shortness of breath 
- Severe pain or infection 
- High fever in a child or vulnerable adult 
- Mental health crisis 
- Sudden or rapid change in health 
If you are unsure, call reception on 01908 318989 after 10:00 am for guidance.
For medical emergencies, always call 999.
Use Anima for:
- Medical requests: 
- Admin requests: - Fit notes (Med 3) / sick note requests 
- Book a blood test, book test results, book nurse appointment 
- Test results or referral updates 
- Admin queries and messages to our secretarial team 
- Requests for letters, reports, or prescriptions 
- Any general enquiry you would usually call the surgery about

How It Works
- Anima opens at 7:00 am, Monday to Friday Until 6.30pm

- A clinician will triage your request and decide on the next steps 
Appointment Allocation
- If clinically appropriate, you will be offered an appointment 
- An SMS will confirm the date and time 
- Appointments may be: - Same-day 
- Within 1–5 days 
- Within the next 2 weeks

Test Results Information
We understand that waiting for test results can be stressful. To help keep you informed, please see the usual timeframes for results to be available and how to check them:
When to Call for Results
- Blood tests: 5 working days after your test 
- Urine/stool samples: 5–7 working days later 
- X-rays and ultrasound scans: 2–4 weeks days after the scan - CT or MRI scans: up to 2–4 weeks, unless advised otherwise 
Important: These are estimated times—some results may take longer depending on hospital processing or specialist review.
How to Get Your Results
- Call the practice after 11:00 am on: 01908 318β―989 
- You can also use the NHS App or online services if registered 
- You may be contacted by phone or text if a follow-up is needed 
Please Remember
- Reception staff can only share the clinician’s written summary; they cannot interpret test results 
- If you need to discuss your results, please request a telephone appointment with your clinician
