We are pleased to welcome Victoria Cook to the Practice she is a Physician Associate and will be available for consultation via reception as part of our clinical team -A Physician associate is a healthcare professional with a medical education who works alongside doctors and surgeons to enhance the delivery of medical care . From July she will be in Practice and holding clinics on Mondays and Fridays .

Welcome to North Leverton Surgery
North Leverton Surgery is situated at the heart of the village (close to the cross-roads on Sturton Road). It serves all the surrounding villages; the area covered stretching from the River Trent to Retford and Dunham to Saundby. We are in fact the most rural practice in North Nottinghamshire, but this does not mean medical isolation!
We strive to deliver up-to-date evidence based medical care, supported by centres of medical excellence at Sheffield and Nottingham if necessary
We run many clinics for the management of chronic diseases such as asthma and diabetes and offer a wide variety of other medical services including antenatal and postnatal care, minor surgery, childhood vaccinations and well-person check-ups.

Dispensing Doctors
The Surgery is a Dispensing Practice. Patients who live more than 1.6km from a pharmacy can choose to have their medication dispensed by us.
Dispensing of medication is available during opening hours from 8am - 6.30pm weekdays. If you require urgent medication outside of our opening hours please call 111.
EPS is now available at the surgery for you to Nominate the Pharmacy of your choice should you choose to not be a dispensing patient with us .
Please allow 3 working days for a repeat prescription request to be dispensed.
Please note we do not dispense liquid form medications to adults unless there is a clinical reason diagnosed . We only dispense liquid form medication to children

MP Visit - Feb 20
We invited in our new MP to discuss the new GP contract and struggles of small rural Practices as a follow up meeting with our chair of our patient participation group Chris Ball. Thank you also to Councillor James Naish who attended to highlight the issues of parking and the crossroads petition.(see photo link).

CQC Visit - The practice had a revisit on Tuesday 14th November 2017 from the CQC inspectors to access our action plan. The inspectors were satisfied with the outcome of the visit and the practice had completed all actions required. Well done to all members of staff involved. ACCESS TO GP APPOINTMENTS IS IMPROVING
GP practices in Bassetlaw are normally open from 8.00am to 6.30pm, Monday to Friday
Some practices already open earlier or later than that on some days and may also provide services on a Saturday. They will continue to offer this to their patients.
From October 1st 2018 all patients in Bassetlaw will have access to some extra GP & Nurse appointments, during the evenings (6.30pm – 8pm) and at weekends.
Bassetlaw GP practices are working in partnership to deliver some of these evening and weekend appointments so you may be offered an appointment at a different surgery to your normal one.
The new extended hours service is available across 3 locations:
Monday - Kingfisher Family Practice
Tuesday - Tuxford Medical Centre
Wednesday - Sunday Riverside Health Centre
Appointments can be booked in the normal way through reception by booking through your own registered GP Practice . Please be aware that this service is for routine pre-bookable appointments only.
Clinicians working in the service will have full access to the patient's electronic primary care record as long as you give us consent at the time of booking . Unfortunately if consent is not given then we will be unable to give you an appointment.

Accessing GP Services when your Surgery is closed.
While your practice is closed extra GP and Nurse Practitioner appointments are available at the Out of Hours Centre located at Bassetlaw Hospital. This is accessed via calling 111.
There are also pharmacies open every day over the festive period who can effectively help with any minor ailments.

Save time – do it online!
GP online services gives patients the option to book appointments, request repeat prescriptions and view their GP records, using their computer, tablet or smartphone rather than having to phone or visit their practice.
Online services complement the existing ways patients can access appointments, prescriptions and their records. Our practices already have the facility to offer online access to records and transactional services for our patients.
If you are not already registered for GP online services please let a member of the practice team know you would like to use this service.
Patient parking
The practice has received a letter from the parish council asking that patients to refrain from parking on pavements within the village particularly along Sturton Road from the practice to the cross roads. Parking on the pavements is causing a hazard to parents with pushchairs, wheelchair users and elderly who may have walking sticks, and they are having to walk into the road to pass the vehicles. Your co-operation would be appreciated

Our staff, including your doctor and other healthcare professionals will not generally provide you with a prescription for a medicine that you can buy at the local pharmacy, supermarket or elsewhere. This includes items such as vitamins, minerals and other supplements including probiotics, as well as treatments for some mild skin conditions. With this in mind, it may be quicker and easier for you to speak to a pharmacist or use our self-care resources instead of making an appointment with your GP. If your doctor thinks that you need a prescription for a medication, he or she will still be able to supply it. The doctor makes the decision.
