Travel Vaccinations
If you require any vaccinations relating to foreign travel you need to fill in a form prior to your appointment with the practice nurse for your vaccinations. This will include which countries and areas within countries that you are visiting to determine what vaccinations are required.
There is further information about countries and vaccinations required on the links below
It is important to fill in this form as early as possible - at least 6 weeks before you travel as the nurse will need to look at this form to determine which vaccinations you will need. These vaccines have to be ordered as they are not a stock vaccine. Your appointment with the Practice Nurse then needs to be at least 2 weeks before you travel to allow the vaccines to work.
If you are travelling please ensure that you collect your travel form from reception and return it 6 weeks before travel so that we can ensure you have an appointment with the nurse. Travel forms handed in with less than 4 weeks of travel may not be guarenteed an appointment
Some travel vaccines are ordered on a private prescription and these incur a charge over and above the normal prescription charge. This is because not all travel vaccinations are included in the services provided by the NHS.
There is currently a national shortage of tyhoid vaccinations. If you need a typoid vaccination you may need to attend a private vaccination clinic.
