Physiotherapy/Podiatry Self Referral

Physiotherapy/First Contact Physio

The physiotherapy service operates from clinics throughout Deeside.  You can self refer to the physiotherapy service by downloading and completing this form
www.mskphysiogrampian.scot.nhs.uk.

Your completed form should be posted to The MSK Referral Centre, First Floor, Ward 6, Woodend Hospital, Eday Road, Aberdeen, AB15 6XS or via e-mail at gram.mskreferralcentre@nhs.scot.

Aboyne medical practice now  offers the First Contact Physiotherapy service.  Our First Contact Physiotherapists (FCPs) are highly trained physiotherapists who will help you with your problem.  When you ring the practice about a problem such as muscular/joint pain, back pain or an injury you will be offered an appointment with the FCP.  Our FCPs have extensive experience in the assessment and management of musculoskeletal conditions and see these patients without the need for a GP appointment.  They offer the usual care as your GP, such as prescribing medication and referring for tests or to specialists.

What to expect when you see your FCP

  • Your FCP will assess and diagnose you.
  • Give you expert advice on how best to manage your condition.
  • Arrange any tests or medication you will require.
  • Refer you onto a specialist service if necessary.

How do you book an appointment to see your FCP?

Simply contact your GP practice and request an appointment to see the FCP. The reception team will check that you’re suitable and book an appointment for you.
