Test Results

For most tests, please wait 5-7 days and then telephone after 11:00 and ask the receptionist. X-ray results take a minimum of 10-14 days to reach us and smear tests take around 4 weeks.

Our reception staff are not qualified to comment on results therefore it is your responsibility to check them and make any necessary follow-up appointment with the doctor.

Please note that we do have a strict policy regarding confidentiality and data protection. In this respect we will only give out results to the person they relate to unless that person has given prior permission for their release or if they are not capable of understanding them.

Warfarin and INRs

From the start of November 2017 we are now checking INRs in-house using a finger-prick system instead of sending blood tests away to Raigmore. Patients being tested in the practice will usually receive a printed sheet there and then with their dosages and next test date. There can be times when your results need to be checked by the GP (for example if you have had antibiotics) and then we will arrange for you to either collect a print-out or we can email this to you.
