Help to STOP SMOKING - STUB IT

Stub it! Stop Smoking Service, delivered by Nottingham City GP Alliance alongside Nottingham City PBP, Nottingham City Council, Nottingham University Hospitals and CityCare. We aim to support people of Nottingham City to quit smoking for good, through a range of methods and techniques tailored to each individual and their smoking patterns.

Social Prescribers

The Social Prescribers support patients with –

  • Loneliness
  • Benefits and Finance
  • Work and Unemployment
  • Housing
  • Coping with long term health conditions
  • Addictions
  • Debt
  • Health and Fitness

As things slowly return to the new normal they are hoping to get back to seeing our patients face to face and help to empower them to take more control of their well-being and connect with local community services but until then they are working with patients in a range of ways.

  • Walk and Talks
  • Garden Visits
  • Virtual Coffee Morning – this is every 4 weeks, its chance for patients to meet new people and just have a friendly chit chat.
  • Walking Group (starting end of May)

Notts Sexual Violence Support Services

Nottinghamshire Sexual Violence Support Services (Notts SVSS) are a specialist sexual violence support services provider, commissioned to deliver services across the City and County.

Their service is available to survivors of all genders, aged 18+, and offers a range of services including a 7-day-a-week helpline, counselling, therapies and ISVA (Independent Sexual Violence Advisor) support.  Supporting survivors of sexual violence no matter when or how it happened.

Support is available in person, online and by telephone and we will work to adapt our service to meet the individual needs of the survivor involved.

Their Aims

Through their service they aim to:

  • Relieve a survivor’s distress and promote healing, and recovery.
  • Give survivors the freedom to take control of their own lives and to make their own choices, empowering them to achieve their full potential.
  • To treat survivors with dignity and respect
  • To raise awareness and educate other professionals in this area of work and within society generally.

TEXT HEALTH for Young People

Nottingham CityCare has launched a new way for young people to get advice and support about health related issues.

 

Young people aged 11-19 years old can send a text to: 07480 635024 or start a chat at www.chathealth.nhs.uk

 

We can help with all kinds of things like:

  • Emotional health /  Relationships
  • Self-harm /  Bullying
  • Alcohol /  Healthy eating
  • Drugs /  Smoking

Your TextHealth messaging service is run by Nottingham City’s

0-19 Public Health Nursing (School Nursing and Health Visiting) Service, and is available Monday to Friday, 8:30 to 5pm (excluding Bank Holidays).

They aim to reply to you within one working day and you should get an automatic reply to confirm we received your text. Texts will not be seen outside of normal working hours. If you need help before you hear back, contact your GP, NHS 111 or dial 999 if it is an emergency.
