Dr Woon joined the practice as a Partner in October 2023 - we are delighted to have her with us.

Practice nurses are qualified and registered nurses. They can help with health issues such as family planning, healthy living advice, blood pressure checks and dressings. The practice nurses run clinics for INR monitoring, cervical screening and long-term health conditions such as asthma or diabetes.

Debbie and Amy work for the Community Treatement and Care Service located in Practices and hubs accross the City, they support our practice team with their daily work and carries out tasks such as phlebotomy (drawing blood), blood pressure measurement, urine testing and B12 injections.

Assistant Practice Manager

The practice manager and assistant practice manager are involved in managing all of the business aspects of the practice such as making sure that the right systems are in place to provide a high quality of patient care, looking after all aspects of staffing, finance, patient safety, premises, equipment and information technology. They support the GPs and other medical professionals with delivering patient services and also help to develop extended services to enhance patient care.

Our Administration team, including secretaries and patient database administrator, work behind the scenes to deal with correspondence received by the practice, including reports and results from all departments within NHS Grampian.  Invitation letters are also sent by this department for the various clinics that are available at the practice.  The team is also responsible for ensuring that our patients' records are kept up to date.

Our receptionists are led by Angela, our Reception Supervisor, and are highly trained in directing patients to the right care from the right person at the right time, working closely with our Duty Doctor to do that.  Receptionists also answer general enquiries, process prescriptions, give out results, register new patients and action requests from the clinical team. They are the hub of the practice and we could not function without them. 

Our pharmacists advise the GPs and nurses on prescribing and medicine issues and offer a range of services to patients including medication reviews and help with prescriptions and dosette boxes.

We have practice attached Community Midwifes who come to the practice to see our patients. 

Our Community Midwifes are based at the Maternity Hospital (Telephone 01224 552071). T

We work very closely with our local district nursing teams who carry out nursing care for housebound patients. These visits are normally authorised by the GPs. Once you have been allocated to a District Nursing Team, you will be give contact information for them. 

We also work closely with our health visiting team.

A health visitor is a registered nurse who has received training particularly related to babies, children and pregnant women. Their role is to provide families with children under five years old with support and advice around the general aspects of mental, physical and social wellbeing.  They also have an important role in Child Protection.

Substance Misuse Service

Our practice-attached community substance misuse service nurse is based at Cornhill Hospital and provides care for patients with substance misuse problems. 

Psychological Therapists

Provide care for patients referred to them by the clinicians at the practice

Link Practitioners

Link Practitioners contact the patient to discuss what matters to them, provide information on supports available and help to access them where needed. Anyone in the practice can refer a patient to the Link Practitioner for a range of help - benefits/finance/housing/isolation etc

Listening Service

Operates out of the practice each Wednesday - appointments can be booked by contacting the practice
