MBBS (1987) DGM MrCGP FPcert
I qualified from Royal Free Hospital in London in 1986. I spent my training rotations in Jersey General Hospital. After completing my GP training I stayed on in Jersey for 1 year doing psychiatry at which point I came back to the UK and have been at the Chipping ever since!
I do plenty of minor surgery and joint injections, occasionally acupuncture. Earlier this year I completed a 12 week training course for using a dermatoscope which increases the chance of diagnosing skin cancer over the traditional 'naked eye method'. I am married to a very busy TV presenter Jackie who currently works for QVC. Outside interests include Jumps racing, playing golf and tennis, cycling and above all cooking (closet masterchef!).
MB ChB (1986) DRCOG DFSRH
I moved from Northern Ireland in 1981 to attend Bristol University qualifying in 1986. After house jobs in Torquay and Frenchay and a spell of infectious disease medicine at Ham Green Hospital in Bristol I did GP training in Bath and Midsomer Norton. I became a partner at the surgery on the same day as Rachael Hampson in 1996 but have lived in the area since 1987.
I have a passion about good quality contraceptive advice and fit coils and implants. I am responsible for staff issues at the surgery and am involved with our newly formed patient participation group. I am also Lead GP for Safeguarding Children. I am married and have four children and two dogs which keeps me busy outside work but I also love swimming and cooking!
