Junior Doctors

We have three different types of Junior Doctors at various stages in their career development.  Their placements in the practice will vary from four months to a year.  On occasion Junior Doctors may wish to record patient consultations.  This will not be undertaken without your written consent, intimate physical examinations will not be recorded and the camera must be switched off on request.  Should your Doctor wish to do this, Admin will give you a a consent form when you come for your appointment.  If you wish to participate, you should sign the consent form.  Following the consultation, please take your consent form back to Reception where you will be asked to give your consent to the consultation being used.  If at this stage you wish to change your mind, please inform Staff at Reception.

Medical Students

As a Teaching Practice we may have Medical Students sitting in during surgeries or having their own mini-surgery.  Patients will be informed of this on making their appointment and can elect to be seen without a student if desired.

Advanced Nurse Practitioners 

Who are all registered general nurses who have obtained their masters qualification in Advanced Clinical Practice accredited by The Royal College of Nursing through The Robert Gordons University. 

Advance is practice is defined as:

Advanced practice is a level of practice, rather than a type of practice.  Advanced Nurse Practitioners are educated at Masters Level in the clinical practice and have been assessed as competent in practice using their expert clinical knowledge and skills.  They have the freedom and authority to act, making autonomous decisions in the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of patients.  (RCN 2020) 

Kirsteen Coady QN: Team lead, Advanced Nurse Practitioner, Practice teacher, specialises in long term condition management , service developer to ensure high quality evidence-based person centered care.

Registered nurses with a wide range of skills which include treatment room and general nursing duties as well as skills such as a smear taking, contraception and managing people with long-term conditions.

Non-registered nursing staff who have a wide range of skills and are supervised by registered nurse.  They provide a skilled service of nursing tasks such as phlebotomy, ECG’s and BP’s.

We have a team of full and part time clinical administrators undertaking a variety of roles from 08:00 to 18:00 during practice opening hours.

They are a team of highly trained individuals who are your first point of contact with the Practice. Please help us by giving all relevant information to our staff who will ensure you are given the best possible service from the Practice.

Hayley Simpson the Advanced Clinical Pharmacist works Monday—Thursday, Claire Murphy Clinical Pharmacist works alternate Mondays, Tuesday, Thursday and Fridays, Lauren McRae Pharmacy Technician is in practice Wednesday and Thursday, Mandy Coull Pharmacy Technician works on a Friday.  Michelle Milne Trainee Pharmacy Technician works Monday-Friday in the mornings, Chloe Shepherd Trainee Pharmacy Technician/Pharmacy Assistant works Monday-Friday and Carla Duncan Pharmacy Assistant.  

The pharmacy team can offer advice directly to patients for medication concerns and link directly with the GPs, Nurses and Community Pharmacists to promote patient medication safety. Hayley also runs clinics for Hypertension and hypothyroidism, Claire runs clinics in Respiratory conditions and they can both offer advice on contraception, HRT and general medication reviews.

Please note that the practice pharmacy team works within Ardach Health Centre and is separate from Normac Pharmacy

Health Visitors and School Nurses

The Health Visiting and School Nursing staff based at Ardach may be contacted on 01542 837111 for the health visitors and 01542 837133 for the School Nurse. If they are not available please leave a message on their answering machine and they will contact you when they return to Ardach.

District Nurses (NHS Service)

The District Nursing staff based at Ardach may be contacted on 01542 837122. If they are not available please leave a message on their answering machine and they will contact you when they return to Ardach.

Community Midwife (NHS Service)

The Community Midwife team working from Ardach may be contacted on 01542 837144.  If they are not available please leave a message on their answering machine and they will contact you when they return to Ardach.  

Chiropody (NHS Service)

The chiropodist offers treatment under the NHS for qualifying patients. Appointments are arranged directly from the Chiropody Service following referral from your doctor. They encourage all able-bodied patients to come along to the centre.

Dieticians, Health Promotions, Mental Health Team and Community Psychiatric Nurse, Occupational Therapist, Orthoptist, Speech & Language Therapists.
