Dr Tim Dalton

Mb. BChir. BSc (Hons) FRCGP DRCOG

Dr Dalton trained at St Thomas’s Hospital London and graduated from Cambridge University in 1993. He also has a Medical Management degree from City University, London. He took over the practice in 2000 from the retiring previous GP. He has slowly grown the practice and was instrumental in the move to the modern premises that we now operate from since 2006.

His interests in medicine are wide ranging but he particularly interested in Transformation and Technology, Medical Training, Travel Medicine and mentoring/coaching. He also maintains an interest in Occupational Health.

A lot of his time currently is spent working on Clinical Commissioning with all practices in the Borough as Chair of Wigan Borough CCG. He strongly believes in patient autonomy and a holistic approach to care and this is reflected in the approach that the practice has taken.

Dr Mausumi Roy


Dr Roy graduated from Aberdeen university in 1998 and trained to be a GP in various hospitals in the north of Scotland. After this she worked in the Fife area until 2005 when she swapped to working locally at Ashton. She joined the Shakespeare Surgery team in 2006.

Since then she has continued to enjoy the wide variety of challenges presented by general practice; her particular interests lie in Women's health, Family Planning, Palliative care & Medical education. She offers coil & implant fitting services. Her consultation style is very much patient-centerd with a holistic approach.

She is currently also our Lead GP Trainer.

Dr Adam Jolles


Dr Jolles graduated from Philipps University, Marburg in Germany in 2002. In the last few years he has worked at the local Infirmary in various specialities including paediatrics, obstetrics & gynaecology and psychiatry.

He has completed his training in General Practice at a surgery in Atherton, where he has made a great impression on the team and local patients, who were all sorry to see him leave.

He has been well received by our local patients and has developed a strong following.

Dr Nadia Thornber

Dr Nadia Thornber


Dr Nadia Thornber graduated from the University of Nottingham in 2011, and trained as a junior doctor in Nottingham and Lincolnshire. She moved to the North West in 2014 and trained as a GP in Wigan. She was a trainee GP at Shakespeare Surgery from 2016 and became a permanent member of staff on completion of her training in 2017. She has been well received by our patients, and became a GP partner in 2021.

She is passionate about using social media and other digital resources to interact with patients and enhance patient access and education. She is also passionate about medical education and is working towards becoming a GP trainer.
