Late Night Appointments

We are pleased to announce that we now have late night opening on Tuesdays and Wednesdays to 8pm for nurse and Healthcare Assistant appointments.  We hope this will prove beneficial to patients who struggle to make a day time nurse appointments.  You can see our Healthcare Assistants Danielle & Jessica for the following: BP's, Healthchecks, Dementia Screening, Vascular checks, Stroke/TIA checks, Hearing Tests, Mental Health Reviews, Dopplers, B12 injections, ECG's.

A small number of online appointments are available to book. This includes online booking for telephone appointments.

We continue to have a very high number of patients who fail to attend appointments they have made each day so please do remember to cancel so they can be offered to other patients who may really need them . You can cancel your appointments online.

Nurse Practitioners

Mrs Debbie Burkinshaw (f)

Sister Debbie Burkinshaw is one of our Nurse Practitioners. She specialises in acute illness and is able to prescribe medication. She sees many of our acute same day appointments.

Mrs Jackie Carline (f)

Jackie Carline is one of our Nurse Practioners and sees mostly patients requiring same day advice for acute problems. She is an independant prescriber.

Mrs Beverley Jobson-Cale (f)

Beverley joined our Advance Nurse Practitioner team in February 2015 as a full time member of the practice.  She works with the Acute team and provides advice and help on appointments which are required same day. Like her colleagues Debbie and Jackie she is very experienced in handling acute illness.

You can have an appointment with the nurse without seeing a doctor. In addition to normal nursing duties, our practice nurses provide treatment, carry out diagnostic tests, give advice on healthy lifestyle, provide contraceptive advice and treatment, monitor hormone replacement therapy, do pill checks, take smears and monitor and manage a range of chronic diseases. Chronic diseases that can be managed by our practice nurses include asthma, diabetes, high blood pressure, stroke prevention, heart disease prevention and COPD.
They are involved with the running of our Long Term Conditions Clinic and have played a key role in the success of the project.
