Please find below a list of locations where you can collect your prescription:

Prescriptions

There are four ways to order prescriptions:

• Tear off slip and hand in to surgery - On the right hand side of you prescription is a list of your repeat medications. These can easily be torn off, ticked and handed into surgery as a way to request your medications.

• Online via the website - You may request access codes for the online prescription request service. Our receptionists will be happy to supply these.

• Email - Please email your name, date of birth, items required and usual pharmacy to fv.viewfieldscripts@nhs.scot

• Pharmacies can request on your behalf - If you register with a pharmacy, you can arrange for them to order your monthly prescriptions.

You may request medications you have had before but are not on your repeats. These will be ordered and sent to the doctor for authorisation so will take longer to be processed.

Collecting Repeats

From the date prescriptions are requested, please allow 48 hours before collection. If you have requested for your prescription to be sent to a pharmacy, please allow 72 hours from the date requested

Collecting Acutes

When requesting medications that are not on your repeat list, please allow around 5-7 working days before collecting and 1 extra day if your prescription is sent to a pharmacy.

Hospital Clinic Letters

If you have recently attended hospital and you have been started on a new medication please hand in your letter as soon as possible. Without this we cannot start the new medication.

If you are not given a letter from the hospital, the practice must wait for notification from the hospital to inform us of any changes. Without something in writing, we will be unable to action any changes.

Please note:

Unless stated in the hospital letter, these prescription changes are NOT classed as urgent so regular waiting times for prescriptions apply.

Discharge Letters

Discharge letters will normally be sent to us electronically. Any medication changes will be made after being reviewed by our pharmacotherapy team.  They may contact you to discuss the changes, were appropriate.

If you receive a blister pack from a pharmacy, we shall endeavour to update the pharmacy appropriately regarding any medication alterations.
