Repeat Prescriptions
Patients on regular medication do not always need to see the doctor for a repeat of medicines. You will be issued with a computer slip attached to your prescription which can be used to re-order in the following ways:
Register with a Local Chemist - the Chemist will then arrange your prescription for you each month.
In person - hand your re-order slip in to reception having clearly marked the items required.
By post - send your re-order slip to us having clearly marked the items required.
Online - Register with our Patient Access service today and you can order repeat medications anywhere at anytime via the app/site. Please visit our Reception to register - we require two forms of photo ID upon registering.
Alternatively, you can register with the NHS App to order repeat prescriptions. You do not need to visit the practice to set this up.
Please note we do not accept requests for medication over the telephone. Please also bear in mind that requests for non-repeat medication or “one off” prescriptions may need a clinician review before issuing.
Electronic Prescribing
You can now have your prescription sent electronically to a Chemist/Pharmacy - this will save you visiting the Practice again to collect your prescription. To arrange this, speak with the Chemist/Pharmacy of your choice and ask them to set this up for you.
For more information, please speak with one of our Reception staff.
Medication Reviews
Patients on repeat medication will be asked to see a doctor, nurse practitioner or practice nurse at least once a year to review these regular medications and notification should appear on your repeat slip. Please ensure that you book an appropriate appointment to avoid unnecessary delays to further prescriptions.
Please allow two full working days for prescriptions to be processed and remember to take weekends and bank holidays into account.
