Acute Prescription Requests
We now have an acute prescription line which is open from 10 am - 12:30 Pm each day. Please call 02838 351347 and press option 2 to request your acute items.
All acute items must be requested on the acute line
What is an acute item?
Acute prescriptions are items that have been issued by your GP but not added onto your repeat medication list. This is usually new medication which has been prescribed for a trial period and will normally require a medication review with the GP before being added on to your repeat list or the drug may not be for long term use so will continue to be an acute item.
How do I know what medication is a repeat or an acute item?
The medication listed on the right hand side of your prescription is your current list of repeat medications. If an item is not listed on the right hand side of your prescription then it is known as an acute prescription.
