Repeat Prescriptions
We do not accept telephone requests for medication
Repeat medication can be requested by:
- Ordering online
- completing the request slip attached to your prescription
- via your chemist
- By Post
Online Access
To access this service for the first time please see the Online Services section on our home page.
Please do not request medication online for new presenting problems. You must speak to your GP first.
Online access (teenagers) policy: Parents or guardians of children under 13 can register on behalf of the child for online access. Access to the service will be removed when the child reaches the age of 13. Any patient can register in person to access the service on reaching the age of 16. Please read our full policy.
Electronic Prescriptions
Electronic prescriptions - NHS
From January 2020 most prescriptions will be signed, sent and processed electronically.
You have 2 choices for how this works.
You can choose a pharmacy or dispenser to dispense all your prescriptions (click here for a list of local pharmacists). When you get a prescription, it will be sent electronically to the dispenser you have chosen. You can collect your medicines or appliances without having to hand in a paper prescription.
You can decide each time you are issued a prescription where you would like it to be dispensed. When you are issued a prescription, you will be given a paper copy that you can take to any pharmacy or other dispenser in England. The paper copy will contain a unique barcode that will be scanned to download your prescription from the secure NHS database.
Paper prescriptions will continue to be available in special circumstances, but almost all prescriptions will be processed electronically.

Please allow 48 hours from requesting your medication to collecting your prescription token from the surgery. Alternatively, if you have a nominated pharmacy, please check regarding their collection timescale.
Medication Reviews
Patients on repeat medication will be asked to see your doctor at least once a year to review these regular medications. Please ensure that you book an appropriate appointment at least once a year.
