Repeat Prescriptions
Repeat prescriptions can be ordered in a number of ways.
- Online - via the link at the top of this page. New users are required to register for online services.
- In person - box in porch
- By post - please include a SAE if you want the prescription to be posted back to you
- By email - at buccg.woodbank@nhs.net
Please ensure that staff are given at least 48 hours notice for repeat prescriptions when handed in, faxed, emailed or requested online.
Electronic Prescription Service
The vast majority of prescriptions are now sent to pharmacies directly through the Electronic Prescription Service, and all local pharmacies are able to receive prescriptions in this way. This service is faster, more efficient and more secure than processing paper prescriptions.
The NHS now has an official system for nominating the pharmacy that receives your prescriptions. For the great majority of people with repeat prescriptions, this has already been set up, after discussion with you, by the pharmcies or the practice but it can be changed by you at any time.
Please check with your pharmacy if you are unsure whether a nomination has been set up for you. Unfortunately, we are not currently able to show your nominated pharmacy on the website or to set it from a request made on-line. Prescriptions for patients without a nomination set will need to be collected from our reception.
To ensure accuracy please use the counterfoil provided when requesting repeat medication. If you do not have a counterfoil please quote the name, strength and dosage of all medication you require.
Medication Reviews
Patients on repeat medication will need to see a doctor or practice nurse at least once a year to review these regular medications, we would encourage patients to book this appointment in their birthday month for ease of remembering, in addition a reminder notification should appear on your repeat slip. Please ensure that you book an appropriate appointment to avoid delays to further prescriptions.
Please allow two full working days for prescriptions to be processed and collect after 16:00. Please also remember to take weekends and bank holidays into account.
