Repeat Prescriptions
Requests for repeat prescriptions should be made by using the computerised repeat slip provided with your repeat prescription. This should be handed in at reception or posted to the surgery.
You may also request your medication online through SystmOnline. Please contact the surgery to register for this service.
If your regular medication is not on a slip or this is the first time that you have requested a repeat prescription then a hand-written note, specifying the medication you require and the quantity, is necessary to avoid errors.
As of 31st January 2020 we will no longer be routinely accepting prescription requests on the patient's behalf by their nominated pharmacy.
Stopping community pharmacy requests aims to address safety and medication waste.
From 31st January 2020 you will need to order repeat medications from the surgery directly or online rather than from your pharmacy.
- Pharmacies can continue to collect prescriptions on behalf of patients who request this service.
- Patients can have their prescription sent to their preferred pharmacy electronically via the Electronic Prescription Service (EPS)
We understand that in some cases other methods of medication ordering may be unsuitable. If this is the case, please let the GP surgery know and we will consider the situation on an individual basis.
Requests will not be accepted over the telephone. 72 hours notice is required.
