Not Accepting New Patient Registrations

Monday 27th November 2023

Due to unprecedented levels of registered patients at St Alban’s Medical Centre, the practice has decided to informally close the patient list to new registrants to enable us to deliver an effective and safe level of service to those patients who are currently registered with us.

Unfortunately, it is estimated that you will not be able to register with us for three months and we are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause you and/or your family.

We regularly engage with the Dorset ICB and Wessex LMC, who are aware of the difficulties we are currently experiencing, and they have agreed, along with the practice partners and management team, that it is in the best interests of all concerned that the patient list be closed.

Please rest assured that we are actively seeking to resolve this solution and will do everything possible to reopen the list as soon as it is practically possible.

It is suggested that you request to register with one of the following local practices:

James Fisher Medical Centre - www.jfmc.co.uk

The Panton Practice - www.thepantonpractice.co.uk

Change of address

If you change your name, address or telephone number, please let us know by phoning Reception, writing to us, or changing your details on SystmOnline.

If you move outside the practice area, you will usually need to find a new GP practice. If you are looking for a new GP, you can find information on www.nhs.uk at your local library, or by talking to your new neighbours.

Guide to GP Services

The Royal College of General Practitioners has produced a useful guide for patients about the services on offer at GP Surgeries and how to access them.  You can download the guide below.
