The Minor Injuries Unit at St Bartholomew's Hospital is staffed by nurse practitioners who can treat injuries such as
- Cuts and grazes
- Broken bones
- Minor burns and scalds
- Bites and stings
- Strains and sprains
- Minor head injuries
- Foreign Body in Eyes
If an injury requires a specialist opinion, patients may be transferred to the A&E Department at The Royal London Hospital. The Minor Injuries Unit is a walk-in service - no appointment needed - and patients are seen in order of urgency.
There are NO DOCTORS based in the unit.
NOT treated at the Minor Injuries Unit:
- Chest Pain
- Abdominal Pain
- Coughs and colds
- Diarrhoea and Vomiting
- Ear ache
- Headaches
- Rashes/skin conditions
