NHS111When We Are Closed

When the surgery is closed, patients should telephone 111 to access the NHS 111 out-of-hours service. You may be offered telephone advice with a doctor or nurse, an appointment at a Primary Healthcare Centre or a home visit if appropriate. This service is provided for medical emergencies which cannot wait until the next surgery. Please do not arrive at the centre without first making telephone contact.

NHS 111 is a 24 hour, nurse-led, confidential help-line providing advice and information on:

  • what to do if you're feeling ill
  • health concerns of you and your family
  • local health services
  • self-help and support organisations
  • appointments for the urgent eye assessment clinic
  • advice on NHS dentists and emergency dental care

Injuries

People sustaining injuries as a result of accidents should ring in for advice. They may be referred to the Minor Injuries Unit at Southmead Hospital or Yate Westgate Centre for assessment and treatment. Please do not to turn up at the surgery without an appointment.

In a genuine emergency you should call 999. Chest pains and / or shortness of breath constitute an emergency.
